Common Lizards

After a long day down in the Forest of Dean, I was a little more than tired when I eventually made it up onto the moors this morning, but with the weather as it was it was worth the effort.

Teaming up with the snake lady who showed me two beautiful freshly sloughed male Adders, colours of which the snake lady had not seen before we went on the lookout for Common Lizards.

It is surprising how easy it is to overlook these creatures, but if you take your time they can be usually found sunning themselves on the stone walls.

But some can be a bit more skulking

And then on the other hand some can be very obliging

And just when you think it cannot get any better along comes this green male

Managed a couple of closer images whilst he was warming himself on a wooden post
